Mr. Carrier retired from teaching in 2024 and now serves as the Golf Course Superintendent for
Moccasin Wallow Golf Club in Palmetto, Fl. Prior to retirement, Mr. Carrier was the Department
Head for Fine Arts at Parrish Community High School, where he opened the program in 2019,
building the entire music program from the ground up. He was named as a 2023 Teacher of the
Year Finalist for the Manatee County Excellence in Education Awards. He has also been
honored as the 2023 Hale Law Teacher of the Year, and received a Congressional Teacher
Award from Congressman Vern Buchanan. Mr. Carrier earned his Bachelor of Science in Music
Education from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois. He holds nine state titles for marching
bands in several states, including two in the Florida Marching Band Championships, and his
jazz groups have participated in Jazz National Finals. Mr. Carrier has served as an adjudicator
and clinician for various organizations and events, and is a past district chairperson for the
Florida Bandmasters Association District 11.
